Skins and values
How Stand skins drop from Arrows, how Pure Arrows and the pity counter work, and how the NP and GP value system behind every tier list is read.

How a skin actually drops
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1 | You use an Arrow. The roll decides whether you get a new Stand, and separately whether a skin attaches to it |
| 2 | Base skin chance is 1% |
| 3 | Every Arrow used after that adds +0.2% to the counter |
| 4 | The moment a skin drops, the counter resets to 1% |
That means the honest way to think about skin hunting is a long-run investment, not a lucky click: about 50 Arrows of failed rolls is what turns a 1% base into a noticeable rate.
Pure Arrows are the shortcut, with a catch
- A Pure Arrow gives a guaranteed Stand skin for the Stand you are holding.
- It can be sold to the Black Market Dealer for $60,000, which makes it the most liquid rare item in the game.
- Using one resets your pity counter. So the correct order is: use Pure Arrows while your counter is low, and keep rolling normal Arrows when it is high.
What the game means by "value"
RIU runs its own value system rather than a trading economy you can price in Robux.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| NP — Normal Points | The standard pink number assigned to a skin |
| GP — Golden Points | Gold numbers; 1 GP = 5 NP |
| Where value comes from | Model quality, plus whether the skin carries its own sound effects, visual effects, battle music and pose music |
| Who maintains it | The game's own tier-list team, not random traders |
The official tier lists are split by category — Stand skins, weapon skins, outfits, items, crafting components, and a separate Stand obtainability list that ranks how hard a Stand is to get (explicitly not a PvP ranking). The board's own last-updated stamp is 2025-06-27, so treat any list older than a major patch as a starting point and check the Discord for the current one.
Where skins come from beyond Arrows
| Source | What you get |
|---|---|
| Arrow rolls | Any Stand skin — 1% base, +0.2% per Arrow |
| Pure Arrow | Guaranteed Stand skin; resets pity; sellable for $60,000 |
| Weapon skin category | A separate list from Stand skins on the official board |
| Halloween / Christmas / Anniversary events | Event-exclusive skins and outfits, during their windows only |
| Staff and removed lists | Exists in the value lists but cannot be earned now |
How to read a value list without getting scammed
- Check NP or GP before you talk numbers. A "5" is meaningless until you know it is 5 NP or 5 GP — that is a 5× difference.
- Skin value tracks presentation, not power. Sound effects, VFX and music tracks move a skin's rating more than damage numbers, because skins do not change your stats.
- The value lists and the tier lists are different documents. The first prices items, the second ranks them.
- Anything older than the current patch is stale. The board prints its own update date and the tier lists carry their own stamp — use it.
FAQ
Do skins change my damage? No. They change appearance and sometimes sound and music.
What is the fastest way to a specific skin? A Pure Arrow, if the skin can come from a Pure Arrow at all. Otherwise it is Arrow volume.
Why did my skin chance drop back to 1%? Because you got a skin — the counter resets on success, and a Pure Arrow resets it too.
Where is the full skin list? On the official Skins Trello board, which currently documents 338 entries across five parts plus weapon, Halloween, Christmas, anniversary, removed and staff-only groups.
